A Personal Message

Change Starts Here.

I don't believe therapy should feel like talking into a void.
When you sit across from me, you'll notice pretty quickly that I'm not the therapist who nods silently and waits for you to arrive at your own conclusions. I'm engaged, present, and curious. I'll push back when it matters, ask the question you're dancing around, and stay right there with you in the hard moments.
More than anything, what I have learned over many years of practice is that deep, long-lasting change occurs when we are in a space where we feel allowed to bring our full selves and stop hiding. Only then can something genuinely new become possible.

THE PHILOSOPHY

Beneath the Surface

What Therapy Actually Looks Like Here

The goal of therapy is change. There is something not working and either it is hard to know what it is or it is hard to change it. Therapy is creating the environment and catalysts for being able to identify what is actually going on(or what is getting in the way). My role as a therapist is to cultivate this environment and to actively engage with you in a way that will foster new insights, thought patterns, and behaviors. Therapy looks like a kind of conversation that ignites an interest and curiosity to think, feel and relate in novel ways.

Why I Do This Work

I do this work because I have seen firsthand the miraculous transformations that can occur in therapy. With a relationship and environment built on curiosity, openness and vulnerability, I truly believe life-changing growth is possible. I know this to be true because I have seen it over and over again in my therapy room. It is an honor and privilege to witness the courage and resilience of clients as they navigate the nuanced beauty and pain of being human. I do this work because I love it and fully believe in its' power.
